Announcement calls for all Fireman’s Fund Pizza Program Clients will be non-renewed in 2015.
San Carlos, CA, November 12, 2014- Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company (FFIC) has announced that they plan to discontinue the specialty program for Pizza Delivery Operations in 2015. With a ripe history in this area, FFIC has excelled in providing a Business Owners Policy along with the hard to place Non-Owned Auto coverage, thus forging themselves as the leading carrier for Pizza Delivery Operators. Several factors, including claims costs, have lead to the decision to pull out of this exposure. The Pizza Program closure comes less than 60 days after German insurer Allianz announced they will overhaul and may sell parts of its U.S. property and casualty business Fireman’s Fund after struggling for years to bring underwriting losses under control.
“The Fireman’s Fund announcement is going to create immediate turmoil for thousands of pizza operations across the country. In an already difficult to place insurance market, the loss of FFIC is a blow to owner/operators,” says Jesse Parenti, PizzaSurance Program Director at Stratton Agency.
The PizzaSurance Program offered by Stratton Agency, Inc. has actively been working with additional markets to secure coverage replacement for their existing client base. By working with numerous insurance partners, hundreds of pizza operators, and creating custom technology solutions for clients, PizzaSurance has secured themselves in the upper echelon of agencies in this limited space. As a leader in the pizza delivery program business, PizzaSurance has leveraged their insurance partners to provide a comprehensive insurance program replacement for FFIC that provides the coverage needed by these clients.
The PizzaSurance Program by Stratton Agency also provides enhanced value added services to all policyholders known as PizzaSurance Online. The headliner of this suite of products is StratTrax, a driver compliance software that provides customers the ability to manage their driver from an online web portal. StratTrax also sends alerts to the responsible manager on important driver requirements to keep in compliance with carrier regulations. The second service provided by PizzaSurance Online is CSR24, an online policy management software that provides policy documents, summaries, and a vast array of policy management options. The combination of these services provides clients with a transparent view of their insurance portfolio with a tremendous upside in operational efficiencies.
James Marek, CFO of Stratton Agency, states, “Our PizzaSurance Program is built from the retail agent level, and having great carrier partners is allowing us to act quickly to the FFIC announcement. We not only have a home for our current clients but will have solutions for the thousands of operators across the United States.”
